Doing a new car prep on a 2017 Silverado on Saturday. Rather than having plastic coated or black bumpers, it has the big chrome bumpers.
Since they it's new, I'm going to hit them with erasure (after the wash and decon) and then CQ.

Opting for Boss perfecting cream (polish) due to low dusting and non-staining qualities, since the chrome is so close to black plastic.

However, if there is some marring, will BOSS Perfecting Cream be safe on the chrome with a BOSS Yellow Pad?

What about some fine steel wool, and clean them as you wash the truck and just wax them.I know that you are a pro but I would just keep it simple if all possible.

Thanks Jeff. The truck is brand-new two weeks old, we're going to do a new car prep on it. I don't think it's really going to need anything on the bumpers.

For the truck we're going to use Boss perfecting cream on everything, cquarts on entire truck, Dlux on plastics and wheels, and pinnacle black diamond on all the glass.

Just checking to make sure there wasn't anything for the chrome on the bumpers.

I have pinnacle exhaust cleaner which will work on Chrome as well if required.

I'd want to use Meguiars Fine Cut Metal Polish on a new truck like that.

Will you be doing a review? I just signed my life away on a new 2016 Silverado on Friday so it would be interesting to see how it turns out.

Since it is new and if they look great then my recommendation would be to prep them with eraser and coat them.

Pretty much what I did... I first hit them with BOSS Perfecting Cream. The truck came out awesome!
I'll have it on show-n-shine either today or tomorrow...

The paint was immaculate, only two RIDS, which were dispatched quickly.
I did the whole truck in BOSS Perfecting Cream and a BOSS Orange.
Erasure, then CQuartz (used standard, too hot & humid for UK). The CQ flashed perfectly and wiped off easily.
Interior Gal got her second chance at glass coating (PBL DC) and Dlux on all the plastic and trim and wheels.

The owner was absolutely thrilled...

You know what works great on chrome----- glass cleaner. Today I did a quick wax on a 1977 Lincoln Town car, and on the chrome I used a foam glass cleaner. The bumpers were in great shape but the glass cleaner gave it the extra shine.
