I used wolfgangs trim sealant but I still am getting hard water spots on these. It is a paint to clean up and it seems like they are pitting slightly. Anyone know what will do a great job protecting these?

I'm subscribing to this thread as I'd love to know the answer too.

I had the same issue on my MK7 Gti. I just gave up and decided to live with it.
Its only on the windshield for some reason as well.

I'd try a spray wax.

Are you talking about the rubber trim that runs along the edge of the windshield?
On my MK6 GTI, I use BLACKFIRE Total Trim & Tire Sealant (http://www.autogeek.net/blackfire-trim-sealant-trim-restorer.html). It holds up for months and I've not noticed any issues with water spot that don't simply wipe away when washing the car.

Did you give the trim a good cleaning before applying the WETS?

•From here...Looks like that's probably
an EPDM "synthetic-rubber". {It is way
less susceptible to UV-degradation.}
•I've successfully used the following
products on this type of "rubber":
- Gummi Pflege Stick
(IIRC: branded as nextzett nowadays)
- CRL Krytox High Performance Lubricant
(#GPL205)
- Meguiar's M39/M40 combo.
