What products/methods have you tried so far?
I've read a lot of good things about McKee's High Performance Glass Restorer. I'm going to put this in on my next order with AG.

Probably have to try something more aggressive, like a polish.

If clay didnt work out for you,

Time to move up to glass polish.
I tried few different glass polish and ended up with carpro ceri glass. ;)

3D Eraser Gel.

Best stuff I've ever used on glass. Just did my nieghbors car today. Your glass will be brand new virgin glass in minutes. I applied it by hand with a microfiber applicator pad.

It depends on how etched the water spots are..if light to medium, a water spot remover like Durgloss Nu Glass will remove them. If however they are heavy, you will need cerium oxide like Car Pro's Ceriglass.

I used the ^^ Nu Glass by Duragloss today and it worked pretty well on the lighter water spots on my side windows. I will need to go over it again 1-2x to remove the larger more etched spots though. However, round 1 lightened them significantly. Applied with microfiber round by hand.

If that stuff worked on all types of water spots, it would be worth way more than the current asking price. Sadly, badly etched glass needs something way more aggressive. I have seen water spots so bad the glass needed to be replaced.

I just bought this on Friday - Wolfgang Perfekt Vision Glass Polish polishes and restores auto glass windshields and windows. (http://www.autogeek.net/dia-glasswork-restorer.html)

Would this not work / can it be used in place of the products mentioned above?

Using a Dual action polisher along with Ultimate compound works for me. if you want a little bit more improvement use CarPro CeriGlass with the car pro glass polishing pads.. Warning Carpro Ceriglass can be messy. Have to keep glass lubricated with water.

If you weren't already planning to do so, once you get rid of the spots, coat the glass to keep them from returning.
