Sign-up: How to apply a ceramic paint coating

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106919

This Thursday night I'm going to wash, polish and then coat our Mercedes-Benz SL 500. This will be the first time I've detailed this car. This Mercedes-Benz has the PPG Ceramiclear paint system on it and as such, with very low mileage the paint only has very minor or shallow swirls from normal washing and drying.

If you would like to learn how to correctly,

Use Iron X on car paint.
Use a foam gun.
Use a clay mitt.
Machine polish.
Prep the surface via chemical stripping.
Apply a paint coating.
Inspect and remove any high spots.[/B]

If you want to learn how to do these things then reply to this thread.

We're going to be using Wolfgang Concours Serious products including,

Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-total-swirl-remover-car-polish-3-0.html)

Wolfgang Perfekt Finish Paint Prep (http://www.autogeek.net/wolfgang-perfekt-finish-paint-prep.html)

No. Going to start at 5:00pm

There's a young man from Italy visiting his relatives here in Stuart, Florida and he's interested in car detailing.

He's never done any car detailing before so we're going to make his trip to the United States an intense learning experience.

And since he's from Italy I'll be sure to show him the RUPES orbital polishers as well as the FLEX power tools and even the Griot's polishers.

We're fair and balanced around here...

At this time there's no plan to start up our "Live Broadcasts" again - at least that I know of.

I'll try to take enough pictures to write an article showing what we do.

No... that product is Dr. Color Chip which is actualy paint. Here's an in-depth article I wrote on how to use Dr. Color Chip

How to use the Dr. ColorChip Paint Chip Repair Systems (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/how-articles/83526-how-use-dr-colorchip-paint-chip-repair-systems.html)

And the technique I told you about for chipped fenders like yours is called the Shoe Polish Technique. Here's a video we made for Dr. Color Chip showing this technique

Bring your car down tonight and lets see if we can knock it out too.

Please do! I'd love to work with you again.

Besides the coating on the Mercedes Benz we also might have a classic Corvette and/or a black Porsche
