So I live in the middle of the desert.(see pic) I keep good care of my car but claying and buffing and waxing every 2 weeks or more often is getting old. What wax do you recommend to help protect against water spots?

Just use a good qd or keep a bottle of waterless wash fluid in your car. I don't think any waxes protect against waterspots since no matter what it is, it'll always sit on top of the wax or sealant.

Wiping it down daily was fun at first but then got old fast

Not a wax, but take a look at Sonax PNS, you'd be impressed We have the same situation and it's the best by far when it comes to resisting spotting

What kind of wax are you using? I'd suggest maybe a cleaner wax to make your life easier. I don't think you need to re clay and re polish and wax your car everytime, just give it a wash and a cleaner wax that'll one step It for you. What exactly is causing the waterspots for you? Is it from washing your car?

So far I'm really really liking Finish Kare 1000P sealant. It's synthetic but it's rained and baked the water on with sun and not left any spots on either of my black cars.

Avoid Car Pro Reload. OMG that was horrible for water spots for me.

The water spots are coming from sprinklers or the random light rains. It's always windy as well so sometimes it's hard to say where the water comes from. I've ordered sonax nps and will start testing that. I'm gonna do a few side by sides and see what holds up best. I'm still open to what others are or have used

I also have had good luck with FK1000p protecting against water spots and it lasts a good 6 or more months if applied to a properly prepared surface.

Sonax Polymer Net Shield is the way to go. With a black car, it has done wonders for me. I look forward to it raining now.
