Back in 2014, I polished out my wife's 2014 black Nissan Rogue and applied Opti-Coat 2.0. It has performed well, but I'm ready to do a full detail and apply a new coating.

I'd like to avoid a two-step polish; any suggestions on a one step product that can remove what is left of the coating as well as offer some moderate correction of minor swirls?

WG Swirl Remover 3.0 finishes out pretty nicely.

Disclaimer:
I'm going to assume the new Coating
application won't be OC 2.0...please
inform us if that's not the case.

Going forward:
After two years, you just may be able to
remove the remnants of OC 2.0 by first
using a medium polish like Meguiar's M205.
(afterwards: follow up with an IPA wipe-down.)

Then...check to see if any of the hydrophobic
properties, that are inherent to OC 2.0, are
still present, or not.

Depending upon that outcome, hopefully, a
more aggressive polishing/compounding
session won't be necessary.

Hi Bob:

Correct - I will be applying CQuartz UK this time around. I have some 205 and will give that a try; my only concern is that it would not have enough cut to remove whatever remains from the original 2.0 application. I will give it a try though!

Thanks!

Would essence have enough cut ? I would try that if using UK

I was thinking about Essence too.
