Hey everyone, I have a bit of a predicament that perhaps someone could suggest a solution to.
I have to luxury of being able to detail my car at work, but the problem I have, is that often when I am mid wash I will get an emergency call (I'm a paramedic). By the time I get back from the call I have water spots all over, and it takes me considerable time and effort to remove them.
I'm looking for an easy, fast and no hassle way of keeping my rides in great condition without ruining the paint. Both my cars are daily drivers so I don't need show car results.
And processes or product recommendations would be great!

Get a good waterless wash like Eco Smart or something and a dozen good micro fibers.

You should start washing your car using Rinseless or waterless products. That way, you only wash one panel at a time and not risk getting water spots when duty calls.

Here are some articles I wrote about rinseless and waterless washing:

Uber Rinseless is the way to go. I rarely if ever use a hose/bucket anymore on either of our cars even when I'm at home. Way faster and IMO safer than a traditional method.

What you'll need is:

Qty (1) Concentrate of Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Solution
Qty (5) 480 GSM Eagle Edgeless MF Towels for the paint
Qty (1-2) cheap MF Towels/rages for the wheels along with a nice brush
Qty (1-2) cheap MF Towels/rages for the door jams
Qty (1) good drying towel
Qty (1) spray bottle with Uber Rinseless mixed up at detail spray ratio's as per their instructions
Qty (1) Good MF Towel to buff if/where needed
Qty (1) Simple Garden sprayer to soak the panels
Qty (1) 2-3 Gallon bucket to hold your solution.

Use the Gary Dean method, fold the towels to provide 16 good clean wiping areas and viola, you are done. Go at whatever pace you need.

This is a good read/thread (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/auto-detailing-101/100197-rinseless-wash-how-dirty-will-you-go.html#post1368697)from recent times that covers it.

With rinseless you dry as you go, so that would be ideal for you.

I'm a paramedic too and I do the same thing!

I go with rinse less washes. I can do one panel at a time, wash and then dry. If I get a call in the middle of my detail session, I just throw a lid on the buckets and pick up where I left off when I get back. No water spots.
