Review: Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner 3.0 (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/new-car-care-products/102538-review-wolfgang-uber-wheel-cleaner-3-0-a.html)
New updated, reformulated version 3.0 works faster while still being safe on ALL types of wheels!
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/data/3126/Wolfgang_Uber_Wheel_Cleaner_3_0_01.jpg
I've been using the original Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner since it was introduced. It's was a great wheel cleaner because it did most of the work for you. That is, you spray it on a dirty wheel and it goes to work!
Like the original formula, the new 3.0 updated and improved formula is non-acid and pH neutral. Plus its safe for all wheel types, chrome, aluminum, clearcoated, anodized, billet and painted wheels. You can also use it on painted and chrome wheel covers.
Color changing performance
The unique color-changing visual appearance shows you its working because when Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner 3.0 comes into contact with iron or metallic particles created by your car's brakes it dissolves them off your wheels. The chemical reaction taking place between the wheel cleaner and the iron particles creates a red colored slurry. The more red color changing you see the worse the brake-dust contamination build-up there was on your car's wheels.
2 in 1
Everyone likes clean wheels but we all know that brake-dust build-up on wheels every time you drive your car. Road film is an oily residue that also builds-up on your car's wheels anytime you drive in the rain. Because road film is an oily residue it acts to lock brake dust onto your wheels and accelerates the build-up of brake dust even faster. Some wheel cleaners are really only good at removing oily road film while other wheel cleaners are really only good at removing brake dust. Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner removes both the oily film and the brake dust leaving your wheels spotlessly clean.
The initial cleaning and the maintenance cleaning
To the casual observer these wheels don't look all that dirty.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106385
The thing is the mixture of oily road film and brake dust creates a corrosive film on your car's wheels that if left to the point where the wheels are turning brown chances increase that damage is taking place. That's why you need to remove brake dust and road film before it's a visual eyesore and then stay on top of it moving forward.
The initial cleaning - The initial cleaning may require agitating the wheel cleaner to fully remove stubborn or built-up brake dust and road film. Especially in areas behind the wheels like the wheel barrels and behind the wheel spokes. For the initial cleaning I recommend having some quality specialty brushes on hand to make the job faster and easier.
The maintenance cleaning - After you thoroughly clean your wheels moving forward the maintenance cleaning will be much easier and dramatically faster and will also require less wheel cleaner and a lot less elbow grease with the brushes.
Brake dust and road film
To my eyes this wheel looks fairly clean. Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner is going to show you via the red bleeding effect just how much brake dust and oily road film you're eyes simply cannot see.

Important Tip: Always work on a cool surface in the shade
Allow plenty of time for the wheel, rotor and brakes to cool down before cleaning.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106383
Twice as strong with dramatically less odor
The updated 3.0 version is now twice as strong and just as important to some of you - the chemical odor has been suppressed. This makes it much easier on the nose and a lot more pleasant to work with.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106386
Spray the back of the wheel barrel, then the backs of the spokes (as best as you can), and then the face of the wheel and spokes.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106392
Allow the wheel cleaner to dwell for about 2-3 minutes
If there's any brake dust present you'll see the Wolfgang Uber Wheel Cleaner dissolve the brake dust and the result of the chemical reaction is called the bleeding effect as it looks like your wheels are bleeding.

In a previous picture the wheels look fairly clean? But Uber Wheel Cleaner tells another story.

The perfect wheel cleaning brush
This is my favorite wheel cleaning brush.
Why?
Because the bristle are perfect for effective cleaning. They are stout enough to agitate the wheel cleaner but still flexible enough to bend and flex so the ends of the bristles can get into intricate areas. At the same time they won't scratch so they're safe for any wheel finish.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106406
Not only are the bristles the perfect combination of not to soft or not to stiff but the ends are flagged so they thousands of tips can agitate wheel cleaner in tight cracks, crevices and other wheel designs.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106407
After you use the Wheel Woolies black wheel brush one time you'll agree they are the perfect wheel cleaning brush. I use them for cosmetic engine detailing for the same reasons I like them for wheel cleaning.

Big cleaning from a tiny brush
If you consider yourself a tick on the OCD side, then you probably already own this brush. If you don't? Then get one. You'll never wash your car without one again and you'll find hundreds of other uses for this brush that will make cleaning and detailing your car faster and easier.
http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=106412
The bristles are made from pig hair. and the ends are feathers or flagged which means they are split to create double and triple the number of bristles agitating the surface when you're cleaning.
