Has anyone every modified a pressure up here to where it could be used with a normal hose spray attachment as well. This way we don't have to keep switching back and forth from normal hose to pressure washer?

Not sure that is possible. The is very little water coming out of the pressure washer. If you want to see how little, just remove the nozzle. Your best bet would be to have a Y connector at the end of your hose and use a short hose from there to the pressure washer and a second longer hose to do everything else. The use of quick connectors and turn off valves is also very useful.

A typical garden hose will swell too much, as well as the fittings on the end can fail at the pressure levels that the reinforced pressure washer hose is designed for.

I have 125 psi coming from the street so i have pressure regulators before it enters my house. But when I was re-plumbing the house I had a super pressure garden hose bib installed before the regulator. It blew out a hose due to the pressure.

The use of quick connectors and turn off valves is also very useful.

I use an electric pressure washer and have quick connects on both the pressure washer and the hose nozzle. The hose itself has the female end attached to it. With this set up, I can turn off the pressure washer and switch to the nozzle in a matter of seconds.

asap2stacks I could not find the post. I
think the gentlemen attached a
2.76 in. Metal Y Connector to the
inlet of the pressure washer with shut
off levers so that the water can run through
the pressure washer and then be diverted
to the garden hose. You can close the lever and
use the pressure washer as normally.
Hope this helps

Sorry about the late reply, I've been a little under the weather. I grabbed some quick snaps of both the hose, nozzle, and the pressure washer inlet. I bought these at my local hardware store (HD) and was around $10-12 total.

It's a Ryobi 1600 psi electric pressure washer that I love. It works well for everything I need and can be packed up and carried with one hand. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I have modified my electric hot/cold water pressure washer. What kind are you thinking of modifying?
