I have a potential customer that wants a multi step paint correction. His car being black and knowing Japanese cars have paint that may be softer than usual, this might turn into a unique challenge.

Test spot will be definite. But any advice that the average detailer may not think about in a situation like this?

It's been a great month for me in the business, including making very happy customers. Yet I know I there's still much I can learn as I take on new challenges.

I think you nailed what will give you the answers...test spots. And that's plural! The First Commandment of AutoGeek is to go with the least aggressive approach and gauge from there. I use Menzerna on my wife's white Altima and at times use a mid polish and an orange LC flat pad to get it completely flat. Her paint (2013) is moderate soft to moderate if that means anything in your case.
