Competition Ready - Episode 8 - Detail Fest - Detailer's Cup Competition!

I'm going to add a LOT of SCREENSHOTs of the guys that were on the 6 teams for the 6 different cars.

First here's the preview for the premiere of episode 8 at 7:30pm Easter Time on Velocity Channel!

Also, as I watched the rough-cut, I recognized a lot of faces in the background that were here for Detail Fest, so if you were here, look for yourself on TV!

I have to say it was really cool to see some guys from the forums on TV. This episode by far was my favorite, and it really seemed to flow well.

The series really started to transform at the end of the season into a much more enjoyable format in my opinion (less focus on the staged dialogue, and more on the products and technique). Great job to all the Detailers and the team at AG for putting this together.

Hopefully a season two rolls around soon! And who knows... Maybe a "pros vs joes" episode might come along eventually... Just a thought :-)

This is the episode I have been waiting on, and have to say it was the best one so far. I had a great time seeing some old friends and meeting new ones. Hope to do it again next year.

Mike,

I was lucky enough to attend Detailfest. One of my favorites was Bobby Alloway's 1937 Chevy. That black paint was amazing. These guys made that paint look perfect. I kept on thinking I was seeing imperfections in the paint, but it was the plastic tent window's reflection in the background playing tricks on my eyes. I thought the interior was just as impressive. The smell of the leather was intoxicating. You could smell the leather just walking past. I talked with the owner of the Chevy and he told me the racing purists were not impressed with the Can Am engine being put in a non Can Am car. 900hp if I remember correctly. The engine was a work of art on its own.

My other favorite car at Detailfest was Bobby Alloway's Porsche Speedster at his trailer. That Porsche was awesome.
