Bob and Darlene's Creampuff 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL with only 6,158 miles! (http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/company-forum-news-headlines/101886-bob-darlenes-creampuff-1989-mercedes-benz-560-sl-only-6-158-miles.html)

Bob McKee, owner, founder and CEO of Autogeek and his wife Darline recently purchased Darlene's family owned 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SL with only 6,158 miles on it! It's truly a time-capsule condition car. I've taken a few pictures to show you just how nice this beautiful example is in just off the car hauler truck. 1989 is the last year for hand-built Mercedes-Benz luxury cars. Before this car was delivered to Autogeek today it was first taken to Wayne Carni's f40.com shop for a complete tune-up, fluid change, brakes and mechanical inspection.

It's hotter than fire blazes outside today as the car hauler pulled up to unload the car.

Here's Bob excited to see the car in person for the first time!

Slow and easy does it....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105677

And here she is - safe and sound!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105699

A couple of interior shots while the car is outside...

Hmm.... early automotive cell phone technology!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105679

Here she is after Bob drove her inside...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105680

The engine compartment looks factory original an unmolested...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105681

Here's a few more interior shots now that the car is inside. There's no visible sign of damage or wear-n-tear.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105682

Door panels look brand new!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105683

The driver's side seat bolster shows no sign of wear. This is probably the first area to show signs of wear so this is a good sign!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105684

No scuffs or scratches in the door sills....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105685

The passenger side is just as clean...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105686

Custom installed radar detector....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105687

Speedometer goes to 180 miles per hour and she'll probably do it!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105688

And check out the original mileage!

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105689

All the bumper chrome and rubber are still in perfect condition. No rust or pitting in the chrome and no fading or oxidation on the rubber.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105690

And no signs of any dents, door dings or fender-benders anywhere....

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105691

Even the factory wheels are in pristine condition with no sign of any curb-rash.

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105692

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105693

She is due for a light polishing and waxing to restore to a better than new factory finish. I took the below shot while the car was outside under the noon time sun...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105696

And a few shots inside using overhead florescent lights...

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105694

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105698

And the FLEX Swirl Finder Light

http://www.autogeekonline.net/gallery/watermark.php?file=105697

Overall however the car in in mint condition!

Help me congratulate Bob and Darline for the new addition to their car collection!

Congratulations!

I had the pleasure to polish out a 1988 560 SL with 22k miles. Awesome cars. Built very solid too!

Sweet find, looks great. How many cars does Bob have? Is there a certain brand he prefers?

Congratulations Bob and Darlene for this impeccable ride!!!

Mike, I bet that car brings back memories for you. Remember the extreme makeover you did on a faded red 450SL (same body and color) back when you were still working in Meguiar's?? That extreme makeover made me get serious about detailing even more. I also used that detail as an example in one of my speeches for my public speaking class.

That radar detector is worthless now and I'd take it out entirely, but otherwise it looks like it's going to be a show car soon!

Glad it is staying in the family. 200 miles a year, wow, that is the most impressive feature. I love the 80's Audiovox cell. I remember Lincoln and Cadillac had factory installed handsets similar to that in the 80's early 90's.

Bob`s family owned Mustang and Falcon will be in good company with Darlene`s family owned Benz.
