Products used at the Petersen Museum for Competition Ready TV on Velocity

The main focus of the work we did to the 4 cars we prepped for the grand re-opening of the Petersen Museum was to,

Clean the cars using a waterless wash.
Clay the cars to remove bonded contaminants (like the red overspray paint on the Steve McQueen Jaguar XKSS).
Compound the paint to remove the deep swirls and scratches.
Polish the paint to maximize the gloss and clarity.
Seal the paint to provide a layer of protection and create a deep, wet shine!

These are not all the products used but these were the tools, pads and products that did a majority of the work and these are also a great collection of tools, pads and products to detail the car in your garage so it looks like the cars we detailed at the Petersen Museum.

It was a great show. Appreciated the tension of the time deadline. The show takes "product placement" to a whole new level.

Yes you are correct.

On the Ford GT40 and on the Round Door Rolls Royce we used portions of the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System. I didn't want to get that DEEP for the TV audience especially considering this microfiber system is designed for PRODUCTION DETAILING and not for Newbies coming from the TV world and working by hand to the machine polishing world filled with guys like us that can polish paint by machine blindfolded with one-hand tied behind our backs.

Can you imagine trying to explain the Meguiar's DA Microfiber Correction System to an absolute newbie to machine polishing? Sure I can and have done it in the past but I prefer to teach people to walk before they run.

Foam pads are EASY to learn how to use and master while MF pads take a tick more experience and technique if you're brand spanking new to all of this.

We're reaching out to millions of people, not the hardcore online detailing enthusiasts.

Hope that makes sense...

Good memory!
