Direct mail advertising

So I have about $500 to spend on advertising for the next three months I came across direct mailing where they create a custom flyer for your services and target certain areas that you choose in your area. It's 5000 flyers for $400 for a 8 week period. Do you guys think this could bring a good amount of business or should I just invest more money into my website.

I have a martial arts business and direct mail has rarely worked.

However a boosted post on Facebook has dominated.

Spent $100 and it paid for itself many many times over.

Boosted post. Not a facebook ad.

Worked for me.

Thanks does this allow only my friends to the page to see or is it everyone in the area I choose

I don't boost to any of the 1000+ that like my page.

You can select who you want to boost it to *again not the ads a good post with a nice picture etc that is boosted.

I boost mine to women 24-44 in my local area only. But mine are for martial arts lessons so we target the moms. It has stomped our Facebook ads. We spent 300 a month n facebook ads for almost no return. Did 100 bucks twice on boosted lost and smoked every other type of marketing g we have ever done.
