for all of you that have used the PC which pads do you find work best?

I started out with the Edge 2K pads, but had nothing but problems with them. I am now using the LC pads. From 6.5 to 5.5" pads. Not one problem at all!

what kind of problems did you have with edge 2k pads?

They can't handle the oscilations that the PC does. The pad gets all torn up because of the center disc. Plus they are 2x the weight of normal pads. I haven't heard of any issues when someone uses a rotary though. The PC takes a toll on these pads.

Lake Country pads with me as well. I have a few 5.5", 6.5" CCS and a ton of 7.5" pads. I only had one issue with the 7.5" pads where the edge of plastic cracked... but the vendor replaced the pads for me.

Yup I'm back to LC pads as well, I use 5'' CCS pads and the orange 5.5 WG pad AG gives with some purchases works great.

I have never had a problem with any Lake Country pad. I would get a small pad if you are a beginner with a PC. It is easier to control and correct with a smaller pad if major paint correction is needed. I have the larger pads for paint that only needs moderate to minor correcting.

I prefer the LC 5" pads myself. They're really the perfect size for the PC, it seems to vibrate less and easier to control.

Ditto, Budman. Look forward to replacing my Edge 2K pds with LC. Probably will wait until I upgrade machines, though.

Why would you say the rotary is overkill? Also on the edge pads the sides are not as forgiving as the lc pads.

The Edge system is a joke. Ive been saying that all along. Guess what, switched to LC and no problems, what a surprise!

i see very few cars that need the cutting power a rotary has to offer. even though i have used rotary for over 10 years and i am comfortable with it. there is still the higher risk of adding swirls with it which means more work for me. i know it also depends alot on the operator but what i have seen and read on the pc it is close to being dummy proof. i have the edge 2k on my rotary. have not had problem with them yet. thank god knock on wood throw salt over( which shoulder is it?) oh heck left shoulder.

I hate using the PC now that Ive learned the rotary. And I actually feel the majority of the cars I do NEED the rotary.

But Id go with the PC with 5 1/4 LC pads w/ 5" BP and 3.5" BP with 4" pads.

No, I understand where you are coming from. The rotary is easy for me and really dont have issues with swirl marks. 20 years of practice of wet sanding and polishing show and race cars for my friends custom paint shop has helped with paint correction and details. Also seems like the lc pads always give you a better result. To me you diffently can tell which pad you have used.
