Really dry, sun damaged leather seats - product and procedure recommendations needed

Today I picked up a couple of leather seats that I want to restore and put in my convertible.
The seats have been left in a parts car for a loooong time in the Florida sun - not a pretty sight.

They are not overly dirty, but do need a good clean also.
I'm pointing to the original color of the seats in one of the pictures.
I need to dye the leather black, so I'm not too concerned about getting the color back, but I do need to get the leather softened up...
So, in terms of tools and products, what would this awesome community recommend? I've read about leatherique being a great line of products, so maybe the 32oz kit might be a good solution?

Yes there was a gentlemen about 3 months ago that used leatherique,also I think he may of repaired them with dye and such.They looked great and were far more worse than that.I don't have any expert advice to pass on to you so good luck.

No need to replace leather on those seats. They appear to be salvageable but will need to be sanded, filled, and re-dyed after the rejuvenation process is completed.

Your write-up really helped a lot, I've ordered some Leatherique from Autogeek now, have not decided on how/what to do with the color change I have in mind. I've seen people have good results with Colorbond, but not sure what that might do to the "leather-feel"?
Anybody have experience with re-coloring/dying leather
seats?

As I'm continuing in my quest to make these seats look nice again, I'm in need of some leather crack filler... Anyone know where you can get stuff like that, in a local store? Don't want to wait for shipping :-)
