I'm trying to figure out a plan of what to buy. My options for now, are to buy just a heated extractor, or both a steamer and a non heated extractor for the same money. My question is, can I get away with a non heated extractor, if I use a steamer beforehand to break up the dirt/stains? Or is it still recommended to use a heated extractor even after steaming?

Heat beyond what your water tank in your basement already produces is way too overrated. Hot tap water, and you could turn your in-home tank up a notch, is plenty.

I see. I'm not even sure if we have hot water at the shop I work at.
