106FF question

For those of you that have used 106FF with a DA polisher, can it be used with a finishing pad like a gray or blue LC CCS pad? Like if the situation called for little to no correction, but you wanted to really amp up the gloss and basically just improve the look of the paint. Or would you still stick to a white pad?

Or would you tend to use another polish that didnt have as much correcting ability? I keep hearing about 106FF having amazing finishing qualities, and ive seen it in the work posted here.

Its getting so much praise from every single person that uses it, its almost an unavoidable purchase for me

Try it and let us know how it comes out. I just polished with 106ff and a white pad. Had to use a little OP to stop the dusting, but it still dusted a little.

ive used 106ff and a blue and gray pad just to clean up the paint and do minor correction...it works very well...although i will admit expensive..but the menzerna really amped up the gloss...

thats good to hear, to clarify... im really looking to bring a factory near flawless paint job to the next level in the looks department. My car is 99% swirl and damage free, but being silver it does not jump out at you nearly as much as other colors. I have already acquired a glaze that I will try on the next detail, but just wondering about the 106 as well. I like buying detailing stuff that I can use on alot of cars, like the 106, but it helps justify the purchase if I can use it on my car for something as well.

i used my menzerna with the lake country white pad . and it worked just awesome removed everything!! but you can also use it with the grey pad to just bring up the gloss. with light correction.after that follow up with the sig series 2 and you will bring that silver to life!!!

u shouldn't be afraid to use the white pad though...ull be very pleased with it

i used the grey/blue pad on some cf pieces just cuz i wasnt too sure how the cf will react...but it did turn out nice n glossy

try the whtie pad n see how it works out for u

I have used 106FF succesfully with a finishing pad to just gem or jewel the surface on a nicely prepped/kept finish.

I used 106 with an Edge Blue finishing pad and loved the results. I was just wanting to remove some contaminants with no correction. Thing was it did correct and did a nice job of cleaning the paint. Very glossy too.

Remember, it's polishing that gives the paint the gloss and depth. No LSP can do it alone.

If you want to really amp up the shine on an already good finish..try the 106 with a green pad (LC) which is above gray but below white. Then use the gray or blue with RMG, Menz glaze, Danase or whatever to make it show car material.

thanks everyone for the advice, Im pretty sure 106FF will be in my next order, which I told my self wouldnt be for awhile, but the Bday is coming so what the hell right? ;)

Richy: Unfortunately I only have the other LC Green CCS pad, which is a step above white and below orange.

Do you find yourself using the green pad your talking about alot for stuff?

If 85RD is less aggressive and just as glossy ... why wouldn't one use that instead of the expensive 106ff?? I suppose if you only have the 106ff then that'd be one thing, but a special purchase of 106ff to only use with a finishing pad doesn't make much sense to me.

I hear ya, 106 is expensive. But for how good everyone says it is, it being able to light polishing on my car is just a plus. Im starting to get more and more into detailing, and doing others cars here and there, this stuff sounds like it would be good to have.

Another part of my question that I want to stress is... Does the 106's final finish rival that of even milder polishes, because everyone praises that aspect of the 106. For example can it correct as well as xmt 2-3, yet finish off like xmt1, or even better then a polish like xmt1?

plus the 106 has the advantage of working well on cermic clear, and I have a friend with a nice BMW and another with a vette that id love to get my hands on one of these days.

What would you use on top of the 106 ff? A sealant? Wolfgang Deep Paint sealant?
The 106ff was on of the finest products I have used,get results.

I keep purchaseing the Menezera products not sure what order I suppose to be using them.
Any reccommendation about what order they are to used?

106ff is nothing more then a pure abrasive polish. After you are don polishing your car with it, nothing is left behind (or almost nothing). You can procede in whichever route you like. Glaze, AIO, Wax, Sealant...

Autogeek seems to like the pairing of 106ff and wolfgang deep gloss sealant, you can find them in the store as a package and save some dough.

On a rotary with my white LC pad, 106 will finish and correct better then any XMT polish. Ive dumped all my XMT polishes for 106, SIP, and PG.
