View Full Version : Paint Coating on Stainless Steel?

Hi all,

I don't know if this is a dumb question or not, as I am completely inexperienced with any of the new paint coatings.

I have a pickup with a bunch of polished stainless-steel trim pieces - a grille guard, door pillar covers, fuel door cover, etc.

So, my question: are any/all/none of the current paint coatings - Opti, Wolfgang Uber, McKee's 37, etc. - okay to use to cover stainless-steel? Or is there anyone I can contact to answer this?

I would much rather just use the paint coat on them as well as the paint, rather than have to use a metal polish on the steel a bunch of times per year.

Thanks a lot for any help.

I don't use the brands you mentioned but I have coated those items with no problems.

Thanks, Mike. I will use it on the stainless then.

I don't have any brand in mind - those are just the ones I thought of when I typed the post. I have Blackfire Crystal Paint Coat on hand, but I'm a little bit afraid to use it, based on the difficult application stories.

you can coat SS and just about anything that will stand still long enough.
