I've never come across it yet, but is it even safe to go after an unknown airbrushed section with a DA? Is it entirely dependent on how the airbrush was done?

I'd assume if it was done prior to the whole vehicle being cleared it wouldn't be an issue but what if not? At that point is it a complete no go or will it stand up to different aggressive compounds? Obviously test, but at what point will you not even touch it?

Save yourself a promblem and do it by hand.

Yeah, I guess that's true, something like a mini truck completely covered would likely be cleared.

Most if not "all" air brush work on vehicles is done before clear. You should be fine. Double check with the owner or his paint shop to be safe.

Also most custom jobs have a lot of clear to work with, atleast one done right.
