Dedicatedperfection: Ultra Sonic Blue Mica Lexus RC 350 F sport

This vehicle belongs to a coworker that approached me to ask about a scratch going down the driver door and what could be done about it. A repaint wasn’t exactly an option and after explaining what could be done about it the owner decided to have me repair the scratch and detail the car. A coating was selected to give it lasting protection.

After getting the car prepped for polishing work I began to assess the affected door and determine the best course of action. I took some paint readings of the door and was returned with readings in the 160-175µm range. Instead of pulling out the rotary/wool/heavy compound, I grabbed my GG3 and equipped it with a Meguiar’s 3” plate/interface pad/3” unigrit 3K foam backed finishing disc and began to work the area. I made a section pass and stopped to take measurements and assess the outcome. With decent results I decided to give it a second section pass and then stop the sanding routine as I had removed 15-20µm clear. After wards the door was compounded/polished with McKee’s 37 products.

Wheels and wells:
Wheels cleaned up with McKee’s 37 Foaming Wheel Cleaner Gel.
Tires cleaned up with McKee’s 37 Tire & Rubber Rejuvenator
Wells cleaned up with McKee’s 37 Cleanse All Exterior Cleaner

Wash:
Foamed with Foam Cannon & CarPro Snow Soap
2BM with Meguiar’s Hyperwash and Meguiar’s Wash media

Decontamination:
Clayed with Nano skin fine 6” pad on 3401 with D155
Smaller areas hit with Nano skin fine sponge

Correction:
3401/PE14 Hybrids & GG3 Hydrotech pads
Affected door compounded with McKee’s 37 Fast Compound
Entire vehicle polished with McKee’s 37 Fast Polish
Wipe down with Wolfgang Perfekt Finish Paint Prep
Wolfgang Über Ceramic Coating applied

Miscellaneous:
Trim cleaned and protected with BlackFire Trim & Tire AIO
Tires dressed with McKee’s 37 Gloss Tire Gel
Windows Wolfgang Perfekt Vision Glass Cleaner

Really enjoyed working on this blue hue.

The car is kept in the garage and one of the boys was trying to get his bicycle out and the handle bar caught the door as he passed by...

Thank you! Really enjoyed working with them without a doubt. Extremely easy to use and user friendly. So easy to use its laughable about how well they work. Really puts a grin on your face.

I have some nasty paint to test out on and will review them there.
