Discovered this by accident on my personal car---a black Lexus GS 350. After a major compound, polish work earlier this spring, I've put down the Rupes P808 sealant. Car looks great---almost a glassy look.

At the 6 - 7 month point over summer, noticed car didn't did not have that "something" extra in the paint anymore. So went I ahead washed the car and reapplied Rupes P808. It looked great but it just did not have "it" like the first time around. I was kind of disappointed at the outcome. So the next day, I lightly washed off the light dusting that was on the car and still did not have "it". So out of frustration, grabbed the Optimum Car Wax and applied it over a freshly applied sealant from the day before and Lo and Behold---Black paint simply just "exploded" before my eyes. I was awe stricken...

That was few months ago and car still looks crisp and shinny today! I have used this OCW on several muscle cars since and it has that "little something" extra just enough to push the paint over the top.

It is is my go to product now...

Thanks, to save time could you apply this like a drying aid? And does this only come in one size?

Drying aid? I don't know. I've never tried it. Maybe others can chime in on that.

One size? Not sure what you meant. But at the store, I see they also have them in gallon sizes as well.

    Awesome...Hope you like it!

Remember...I've put this on top of Rupes sealant and that does help a lot. Sealant + OCW = winner!

Let us know what you think...

Yes you can use it as a drying aid. But just like other products the durability goes down a little as the added water dilutes it.

I have found that if I do a quick drying pass with a towel or my MasterBlaster and the use OCW as a final wipe to clean up anything left over I get the best of both worlds. I minimize water spotting from left over water and it adds protection.

You can the 16oz or the 1gal refill.

I'm sorry I mean as I'm drying a panel I spray some wax on, but as mentioned that would affect the durability. I didn't realize that this could be purchased any larger than that spray bottle pictured.

    Here’s some using OCW as
    a “drying-aid” information:

    Probably true.

I think that Optimum in general puts out really good stuff.

Love this stuff. I used if for four straight years on my 2013 Wrangler. No base sealant, coating, nothing. The paint looked perfect after four years, and the trim still looked brand new, unlike every other Wrangler. Not only is this stuff my go-to for a spray wax, it is the best trim treatment for hard black plastic.
