Review and How-To: Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash

Review and How-To: Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash

Question: What is a rinseless wash?

Answer: A concentrated car cleaning solution that offers excellent lubricating ability while loosening the grip dirt and road grime so that it can be safely removed without the need for a water hose and running water.

    Question: How does it work?

Answer: The concentrate is diluted with water and mixed well in a bucket and then using a wash mitt or other wash media the rinseless wash solution is wiped over a body panel where the lubricating agents lubricate the surface and the cleaning agents loosen dirt. Loosened dirt and road grime gathered onto the wash mitt are transferred back to the bucket of rinseless wash solution and then the panel just cleaned is dried.

Question: Why use a rinseless wash instead of a traditional wash?

Answer: There are many reasons to use a rinseless wash instead of a traditional wash, here are a few,

    1. Drought conditions
In areas of drought local governments may take away your right to use a traditional car wash method to wash your car. Common sense and a personal commitment to the greater good of the community also inspire people to find alternative ways to clean their car without running water.

    2. No running water available
This could include people that live in condos or apartments where access to a running water and a water hose don't exist or contractual agreements dictate cars will not be washed using the traditional car wash approach.

    3. Cold, icy frozen winter climate
If you live in a geographical area where temperatures drop to freezing or below freezing it can be impossible and even risky to your physical health (slip hazards), to try to wash a car outside using the traditional car wash method.

    4. Mobile Detailers
Some cities, towns and counties may have restrictions using running water that is not contained and recycled making using the traditional wash method risky as a person could face fines and fees for non-compliance.

    5. Traveling cross country
When traveling cross country access to a water hose and running water may not be an option.

Question: Are there any risks to using a rinseless wash such as scratching the finish?

Answer: Clearcoats are scratch-sensitive, this means they scratch easy and there's always a risk of inflicting scratches into a car's clearcoat finish no matter how you wash the vehicle. For cars that are excessively dirty a better option is to take the vehicle to a self-service coin-op car wash where you have access to running water or to commercial car wash business where the car wash company will wash your car for you. For cars that are not excessively dirty you can safely use a rinseless wash as long as you take a common sense approach, use good technique and use high quality products. Remember, if you cannot use the traditional method of using a water hose with running water to wash your car then you must find an alternative option to get your car clean and a rinseless wash is a popular option.

    Fast and easy
Besides all the reasons listed above for using a rinseless wash another popular reason is because it's fast and easy without the mess or hassle of dragging out the hose, bucket and any related tools for washing your car.

Like anything in life, practice makes perfect and the more you use a rinseless wash the better and faster you get with this low-water method for cleaning cars. You also develop your own unique technique to fit your style of work as well as the body lines of the cars and other vehicles you wash.

Rinseless washes became popular primarily for reasons that are associated with the inability to use the traditional car wash approach to cleaning cars but as the years have gone by the rinseless wash approach has dramatically grown in popularity simply because once you dial in your own unique system getting your car clean is fast and easy.

The rinseless wash approach is actually a perfect method for cleaning cars for anyone that lives in areas where it doesn't rain a lot thus your car stays cleaner naturally already. And the rinseless wash approach is also a perfect method for getting your car clean if you're already a clean freak, that is you're OCD when it comes to keeping your car clean and probably everything else in your life.

Let me share with you a top shelf rinseless wash product that given a chance may just switch you over to becoming a rinseless wash fanatic.

Re: Review and How-To: Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash

    Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash

Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash is part of a completely line of premium car care products. Every product in the Wolfgang line meets and exceeds even the pickiest person's demands for high performance when it comes to the quality of the products they use to maintain their cars. In other words, if Uber Rinseless Wash were a Tequila it would be on the top shelf like a premium quality Blanco, Reposado or Añejo.

There's all kinds of ways to create a car care formula and what separates many products from being on the bottom shelf or the top shelf is the quality of the ingredients. The higher the quality of the ingredients is for the most part always reflected by the price. The reason why is because more costly ingredients and/or more refined ingredients bring with them a higher price point.

Top shelf products are not for everyone and in fact the majority of any category of product normally falls into the low end where these levels of products compete for price shoppers. Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash isn't for price shoppers it's for people that want the best of class in the rinseless wash category.

Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash is a concentrate, so while it does cost more on an ounce-per-ounce comparison, because it's concentrated you use less to make the same volume of ready-to-use wash solution as compared to other products in this category. When mixed correctly it doesn't cost you money it saves you money.

Your job when mixing up a bucket of rinseless wash is t measure correctly and not simply use the glug-glug method of dumping in concentrate with no accountability.

To help you do this Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash comes in a twin neck container with a built-in measuring chamber. Simply remove the cap off the measuring chamber side, squeeze the bottle till the chamber is filled and then pour this pre-measured amount of concentrate into 3-gallons of water. Simple Simon.

    Additional benefits and features

Besides being a concentrate, (which also makes it more earth friendly plus you're not paying for water), here are some additional benefits to the Uber Rinseless Wash,

    • Creates a high lubricity solution which creates slip so dirt and road grime will glide over a surface instead of grind into a surface reducing the potential to scratch the surface.

    • Synthetic formula softens and conditions water while encapsulating dirt and grime it looseness from the surface to be safely removed when you wipe the surface dry.

    • A rinseless wash prevents pollution run-off to our water systems. Dirt that is removed when you wipe the surface dry is trapped in your microfiber towels, removed when you wash your towels and the rinse water is then captured and removed in our water treatment plants. At the end of the washing process dump any leftover water solution in your lawn or shrubs where the dirt will remain with the rest of the dirt and the water will support plant growth.

    Four products in one
Not only is Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash a top shelf rinseless wash but it can also be used to create 3 more commonly needed products in your detailing arsenal.

    1. Make a waterless wash
My mixing 1/3 of an ounce of concentrate to 16 ounces of water in a spray bottle you create a high lubricity waterless wash. A waterless wash also replaces the traditional water hose and runny water to save and conserve water. The way a waterless wash works is you spray on a heavy saturation of product to hyper-lubricate the surface and then using lots of microfiber towels wipe your car clean folding to a clean side of a towel often or switching to a clean towel often.

When using a rinseless wash you can use a waterless wash to pre-treat body panels to start softening and loosening surface dirt and road grime before washing with the rinseless wash as an extra level of protection.

    2. Condition your city or well water
Mix 1/2 ounce of concentrate into a bucket of water when using the traditional car wash method to wash a car. Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash will help to soften and condition the city or well water and compliment your choice of car wash solution.

    3. Create your own clay lube
Mix 1 ounce of concentrate to one gallon of water to create your own clay lube for use with detailing clay or other tools designed to mechanically decontaminate paint.

    4. Create your own detail spray
Mix 3 ounces of concentrate to filtered water to make your own spray detailer for removing light dust, fingerprints and smudges in-between normal washes.

    Step-by-Step Directions

How to mix Wolfgang Uber Rinseless Wash

    1. Fill a clean bucket with 3 gallons of clean water.

Option: Place a Grit Guard Insert inside the bucket. After washing a panel push your wash mitt against the grit guard insert and scrub it against the grill. This will loosen any dirt trapped on the mitt where it will then drift to the bottom of the bucket. The grit guard insert then traps the dirt on the bottom of the bucket so you don't simply remove dirt from one panel only to rub it later against another panel. I highly recommend using a grit guard insert anytime you're using a rinseless wash.

    2. Remove the cap off the measuring chamber and simply squeeze the bottle to fill the chamber with concentrate.

    3. Pour the concentrate into the bucket of water.

    4. Mix thoroughly for a uniform mixture of rinseless wash and water.

How to wash a car using a rinseless wash

    1. Start at the top and work your way down

    2. Gather some rinseless wash solution with your wash mitt or other wash media.

    3. Place your wash mitt in the middle of the roof while standing on one side and then making a few back and forth passes from front to back work you way to the outside edge. Then move to the other side of the car and repeat to the other side of the roof.

    4. Next use clean dry microfiber towels to remove the rinseless wash.

    5. After washing each body panel place your wash mitt into your rinseless wash and agitate the mitt against the grit guard insert to loosen and remove dirt and grime.

    6. Repeat these steps to the horizontal surfaces like the hood and trunk lid...

    7. Tackle vertical panels after horizontal panels...

    8. After you have washed all the body panels tackle wheels and tires last.

Demo Car - 1969 Dodge Dart GT Sport with a 478 Hemi

This muscle car is here for a special project but before we can start the project the exterior first needs to be cleaned. This 1969 Dodge Dart is part of a larger Mopar muscle car collection. The shop where it's kept is a working shop and as such this car is exposed to a lot of air-borne dirt that settles and accumulates on the finish, glass and chrome. There's also some type of black over spray paint in the form of dust covering the finish.

Before machine polishing the exterior finish needs to be surgically clean. As a best practice and a professional courtesy to the owners of cars like these I tend to always choose and use either a rinseless or waterless wash on valuable cars such as this Hemi powered tribute race car.

    Agitate, rinse & repeat

    5. After washing each body panel place your wash mitt into your rinseless wash and agitate the mitt against the grit guard insert to loosen and remove dirt and grime.

I find pushing the mitt against the grit guard insert and twisting it against the grill works best.

Ready to wash the next panel...
