How many pads do I need to buff out a 1948 Willys Jeepster?

How many pads do I need to buff out a 1948 Willys Jeepster?

    This many...

Recently the topic of how many pads it takes to do any type of machine buffing came up in this thread,

Best video ever on how to machine buff a car from start to finish

I said I would start taking picture of the pads after a project. Just keep in mind that a lot of my projects involve TEAMS of people, not just me. So that will skew the number of pads used and of course the number of pads a single person would use or need to do a job.

    Here's the original project.

That's a "bring new the pad washer" situation!

We did go through a lot of pads that day... That single stage turned them red real quick!

And some of those pads still have red pigment in them after having been washed dozens of times now and used to buff out dozens of other cars.

I saw the Jeepster a few months ago driving down the road, still looks great!
