How to pack for an Autogeek Roadshow Class - Does anyone know what it takes?

How to pack for an Autogeek Roadshow Class - Does anyone know what it takes?

Do you know what it takes?

I had an idea but even I was surprised...

    First, we ordered 40 storage totes, 26" x 19" by 14"

The tallest bottle we ship is the 303 Aerospace Protectant (for the class session on vinyl top cleaning and protecting), so the tote had to be deep enough that the bottles were not crushed causing the product to spill out all over the place.

Here's Lucas our Warehouse Forman bring a pallet full of 40 totes into Autogeek's Show Car Garage. This is a big deal.

Now there here.... now someone has to carefully and methodically pack these totes with all the tools, towels, pads and products AND take pictures of how each tote was packed for reference for all future classes and for shipping back. As most of you now from first hand experience, it's easy to pack for a trip... the hard part is putting everything back into the suitcase the way it went it.

How many totes do you think it's going to take to pack up for this roadshow detailing class?

    Continued...

In case you're new to our forum, last week I staged tools, pads, towels and products for packing to ship to the Wisconsin Roadshow Class. I knew it would take some boxes to pack everything into in order to SAFELY ship everying to any of our roadshow classes so those attending could hold and use the tools themselves for a real hands-on class.

But I was surprised at just how much volume of tools, pads, products, extension cords and towels would brought to together for one of these classes until I had finished getting everything ready in the garage.

Yancy did a great job of capturing just how much stuff you get to use in a REAL detailing class. If you have not watched this video yet, it short but to the point. Check out the sweeping shots Yancy was able to capture to really tell the story...

Here's a thread I created to capture with my camera just what it takes to put on a real hands-on class.

Here's just a few pictures showing the mass volume of just the tools....

Just though I would share the totes needed to ship everything from Autogeek to an offsite location AND THEN BACK TO AUTOGEEK because I'm sure some of you, like me may be surprised.

    Absolutely mind blowing Mike WOW!!!

Pretty cool too huh. Quite the RoadShow indeed, & to think - you unpack it all when you reach your destination, & then pack it all up again . . . & again . . . phew!

    Awesome work team!

Organized and attention to detail come to mind.

Wish I could have taken the class, too many financial obligations.

Make sure you try the cheese curds. Both the deep fried and "squeaky" fresh curds.

    ***Update***

Just now getting to these pictures, the night before Yancy and I fly out... but to complete the story....

This is one of our SEMA crates jam-packed full to the top...

    Here's Yancy closing the door....

There are 11 huge totes filled with tools, pads and products....

All wrapped up, shipping processed and ready to be picked up...

Dave Patterson called me yesterday, (Monday), and told me the two pallets arrived safe and sound!

Total weight = Approximately 1000 pounds

    Shipping cost = Approximately $800.00

For anyone reading this into the future thinking about attending one of Autogeek's Roadshow Classes, you can see by these pictures... you're in for a 5-Star experience.

    We guarantee it.

Already on your way? I was wondering about that...

From pictures---I can only envision the daunting task of unpacking, setting up and the general logistic work! Looks like solid 2 - 3 days worth of work right there.

I am looking forward to the pictures from class!
