Once you do get it to slide, move it around often in effort to prevent it from seizing again. That's the downside of brass construction.
It’s brand new. What is the process? Should it slide freelly? Do i need to pull a pin? Turn it?

I dont have my sliding foam gun here at the house at the moment so it's hard to describe without actually having it here to move it. I can get it and move it this weekend....
Treat it like it's the only one in the world.

It should slide rather freely. It will lock into position on whatever opening you choose. Try adding WD40 and let it sit overnight. Hopefully it allows you to move it in and out.

A small amount a grease on the slide pin will also help it move freely.
