Aww Shucks! We Got A New Minivan, and MORE! What is This Material On The Seats?

My wife and I just financed a new to us 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT. We took it on a road trip to Kansas and ended up getting bug splatter all over the front windshield, front grille, side mirrors, headlights, etc.

I didn't have time to do a full wash today, and I did not just want to leave all of those bug guts on the vehicle until next weekend. So what I opted for was to go to my shop, quickly mix up some BLACKFIRE Bug Remover, take it to the coin op car wash, spray the bug remover on, let it soak, then pressure wash the bug remains off, and do a spot free rinse.

It was a hope for the best expect the worse type situation. I did end up getting a good majority of the bug remains off, but unfortunately the spot free rinse didn't work as advertised, and I ended up with some water spots on the hood and possibly other areas of the paint, as well as the side mirrors and other glass.

AWW Shucks.. Looks like I'm going to have to polish the glass with BLACKFIRE Glass Water Spot Remover

I got the van home and looked at the hood under the sun

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say these are potentially type II water spots as described on page 33 and 34 of The Complete Guide To A Show Car Shine

    https://www.autogeek.net/how-to-crea...hine-book.html

It all depends on if they come off during the wash or not. I can do a better inspection after I wash it.

Looks like it's swirled and scratched up. My theory is that there may be a product the dealership used to mask these swirls and scratches and when I took it to the coin op it was washed off. I could detect some other random scratches throughout the rest of the panels but they didn't appear to be as bad as the hood. So maybe the rest of the swirls and scratches are still concealed? Honestly it didn't look swirled out on the vertical panels in the sun. I didn't look at the roof.

Aww Shucks...Looks Like I'm going to have to polish out our van with BLACKFIRE One Stepand top it with BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax

Can you tell me what the material on the seats are? The description says: Black Torino Leather Seats with Suede Inserts

I was thinking of using the Sonax Upholstery and Alcantara Cleaner? Perhaps The Dr. Beasley's cleaner and protectant?

Here's a couple more shots of the van

Thanks brother! I'm looking forward to doing a Show and Shine piece as well! I will likely do it in steps. I'm thinking I'll install the tire coating next weekend. What did you think about the seats? Should I use some type of microsuede cleaner on them?

I tried posting a link from #### on alcantara. It’s a style of microfiber.
