Carpro Essense Plus
After use this product does the towels need to be discarded or like a SiO2 Sealant they can be washed and reused?

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
You’re fine to reuse. Super low amount of SiO2 in that product. I’m not sure I’d buy that product again after trying to use it a couple of times and basically wasting my time.

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
Just for my knowledge...can you please provide more info on your experience?
Did you polished the paint before use it?
Did you used any maintenance topper?
Did you applied 1 or 2 coats?
How long it last?
How was the gloss and hydrophobic?
thanks

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
Essence plus is made to attempt small repairs on a car that already has a coating.
I tried it on two different cars, one coated with CQ UK and another with Gyeon Syncro. Both times to attempt removal of water spots that Spotless didn’t touch.
Essence Plus also didn’t remove the water spots. But you can clearly see it left its protection behind because the panel polished with it now shows much inferior hydrophobic behavior than the rest of the car. It’s like Essence plus is masking the coating. And it lasts a long time on there, or maybe it just causes permanent damage to the coating? Both times I used a finishing pad, with no cut. I did not want the coating removed.
I did apply a few times to the same area because all I wanted was the water spots removed but I made no difference at all.
Essence Extreme Gloss (the non Plus version) is another story. That one is awesome and I love using it.

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
I was considering put it on bare clear coat and top it with Reload or Elixir on my wifes car.
I kinda like the idea of a SiO2 liquud sealant but there is none out there that really convince me.
1)Adams Ceramic Liquid Wax - no good durability and no good gloss either
2)Ethos Ceramic Wax Pro - its really not that hydrophobic
3)Meguiars M27 Ceramic Sealant - no much info on durability, but apparently isnt much
4)CG Hydroslick - nightmare to work with
5)Wolfgang SiO2 paint sealant - cant find any real review
I thought the answer was Essence +

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
To answer your frist question this does not require one to toss their towels. This does not have that high concentration of SiO2.
As mentioned this was designed as a coating repair non-abrasive polish. It is essentially filling in those minor and I mean minor defects. It does leave a nice gloss but lacks in hydrophobic's and self cleaning compared to an actual coating.
You will get about 3 months out of Essence Plus used as a stand alone.
This is from CarPro. They claim close to a year but cut that in half based on my experience with Essence Plus. You can top it to your hearts content.

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
Hydrophobics and self cleaning are an important factor...
So back to the drawing board.
This category of LSP there is no product that stands out

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
If I were you I’d use Gyeon CanCoat. Easy to apply, about a year of protection, and acts as a real coating. If you need to polish before just to clean up the paint in case it’s mostly defect free, you can use their Primer.

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
Yeah, Cancoat & CQuartz Lite were the top 2 on the list (Im following Guz durability thread)
I was trying to look for a SiO2 product that can last about 6 months or maybe more with great gloss (white car) and hydrophobics but that I dont have to discard towels, not because of the price of the towels but because the car is white that means if I mess it up I can fix it easily without having to polish.
That is how I conclude that a SiO2 liquid sealant/wax might be a good idea if I maintain it with Cure or Reload/Elixir.
Im a little scared of coatings to be honest

Re: Carpro Essense Plus
Essence Plus has a very unique role and it's very useful in that application. However, I don't think that this product will do what you're looking for.
A good option for you might be a SiO2 based wax.
