Re: 2019 Fall Dragon Run, pics and stories
Nice pics. Looks like you had fun. 2,400 miles....That’s more miles than I put on my Z28 this year.
Knoxville is my favorite medium to large sized city I’ve ever been to. I see a University of Michigan sweatshirt in those pics from cars and coffee. I was down there back in January when Michigan played UT in basketball.
Btw, you should cruise around Oak Ridge, there are some nice roads out that way.

Devils Triangle is just west of Oak Ridge in Oliver Springs. We drove through Oak Ridge. Its where Uranium was made for Little Boy and Fat Man.

That whole part of the state looks to be littered with great driving roads. I could see myself easily doing a road trip to the area and never actually driving the Dragon, simply to avoid the tourist traffic.
Seems to be very similar to the Ozarks in southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas. There are hundreds of miles of well paved, twisty mountain roads you could drive for days and never quit smiling.

What was the wildlife situation like? I typically like to do my back road runs right after dawn since I'm less likely to meet a raccoon, possum, porcupine, coyote, armadillo, or deer in the middle of the road. Mornings usually lead to far fewer deer and only stray turkey or suicidal squirrel .
