Is 120 days neccessary?

Had to have a 2018 VW repainted because of an accident. The shop has done painting for other vehicles of mine. One vehicle spiderwebbed after a bit and he said it was because I didn't let it gas for 120 days before sealing it. (He did repaint it no charge).
I have no garage and this VW is a daily drive. Do I have to let it gas for 120, or can I seal it now after 60 days?
My patience are shot waiting.

So how does this concept work? Gasses can get out, but yet contaminants can't penetrate? Interesting concept I'm just not familiar with the logic. Thanks for sharing.

Usually, 30 days is a good enough "window of time" for any solvents and other ingredients to outgas before sealing the surface.
