    Re: Pick 1 - Wax - Sealant - Coating

    Wax.

Longevity does not matter 'cause I like to Wax on Wax off often.

    Re: Pick 1 - Wax - Sealant - Coating

    1) Sealants
    2) Wax
    3) Coatings

I really love good waxes, but I don’t have a garage queen to work with, so sealants are my choice. I love the opportunity of polishing 1-2x per year and trying topper combos on my LSPs, so coatings are out. Sealants look great these days (typically candy coated vs the old sterile-shine days), they’re pretty durable (3-6 months), generally the most affordable per application (even the most expensive sealants usually max around $40 per 8-16oz bottles) and are so easy to apply. You can top them with anything if you need to touch as often as I do.

I love SiO2 sprays but sealants are my pick regardless if these are considered sealants or coatings. Top SiO2 sprays or a beauty wax might be my favorite date night choice, but fine sealants are what keep me happy through 8-10 months of the year.

I'm a sealant guy. easy to use, nice durability, nice looks. Prefer sprays due to time and sizeof vehicles.

Have recently gotten into spray SOWO ceramics as they have taken off with multiple brands. Also like that I can use sprays on windows and chrome too.

    Re: Pick 1 - Wax - Sealant - Coating

Fun topic with no wrong answers in my opinion.

For me it’s Wax. For a bunch of personal reasons.

    1 Love me Nuba.

2 I do detailing for money. Repeat business is a big part of my profit. I don’t believe a vehicle should only be “detailed” once every year or so. I like to perform 3-4 good quality details a year with typical decontamination processes. So longetivity isn’t an issue for me.

3 I can wax a vehicle and set it free minute after. Meaning a vehicle doesn’t have to stay in the shop for 12+ hours so water/moisture doesn’t ruin the bonding process. This is a big reason for me as most people want their vehicle back the same day when possible.

4 I prefer the look of a Nuba in most cases.

5 There is one way to achieve the just waxed look. And that’s by just waxing!

    6 I enjoy collecting/using different waxes!

I prefer coatings on my personal car however use sealants on customers. Of those sealants a large majority are cleaner/sealants.

    That's a great point!

I actually use the sealant as my default, and upsell a Carnauba topper, which is Zymol Creame or Carbon.

    1. Sealants
    2. Wax
    3. Coatings
...but I rarely just employ one. I often use a sealant topped with a wax, and sometimes a coating topped with wax. Mixing and matching is fun and often yields great results.

    Sealant
    Wax
    Coating

For all the reasons above. 3-6 months is fine, and then I want to play some more. Really, with WG rinseless and a spray wax every month, I feel like the full sealant application is more like a year in my climate.

    Re: Pick 1 - Wax - Sealant - Coating

Love my coated cars but dont love the process.

For the majority of the cars I do for people the Sealant is the right answer

MY VOTE is for Synthetic Sealant for sure.
