The downside of pet ownership, and it's a big one. Done this 5 times and it doesn't get any easier. I hope you get some quality time with her. I'm sure you've take great care of her. Remember to focus on that.

    Re: DK News

Sorry Monica. I’ve been through this with two greys, Dreamer and Lizzy. With Dreamer we had no choice, she was on life support... With Lizzy we had to make that awful call.. her cancer had spread and I’ll never forget that day. There were times I second guessed myself and wondered if we did the right thing.

My trainer told me for every dog you lose you gain two... I didn’t know what she meant at first, but it dawned on me when we adopted Jax last Dec, and I see Khaki (soon to be 8) sleeping near Jax... makes sense.

We started with Lizzy, and now have two... and Jax is our 4th grey baby in a good home.

I also know how hard it is taking care of an ailing dog. You must be tired....

We’re here for you... us greyhound folk are all a bit kooky, but we love our dogs.

We had to make the call with our Rottie who was 13. The cancer was actually under control, but it was Lyphodema that got her.

About a year and a half later we finally were ready to have another dog in the house. A friend of ours fostered greyhounds a lot and always told us how wonderful they were... so we decided to go that route and visited her rescue.

We ended up bringing home not 1, but 2. Both were kind of "rejects" at the rescue. The male had been there over a year. He is gorgeous and so fun, but he was deemed cat unsafe so I guess no one wanted him?

And June was returned due to being too "anxious" by the family who adopted her.

    Neither of these were true...

Sidney (the male) is terrified of our 3 cats and stays far away from them, and June just needed another dog in the house.

I'm glad we were not only able to rescue 2 greys, but 2 that no one else seemed to want.

June seems a little better today. She's still not great with her balance, but I think she is still recovering and maybe adjusting to the new med.

Thank you all again for the kind wishes and prayers/thoughts.

Glad to hear she’s a little better Monica. Life is precious and tomorrow isn’t promised. I know it sounds cliche, but we have to appreciate each and every day.

I'm glad your dog is doing better,,,it's tough watching them suffer and feeling helpless to make it better.

Thank goodness they had you to rescue them when no one else seemed to want them.

Well I have a good update:

    June is doing better.
No seizures in over a week now.
She has her balance back but still needs to regain her sense of awareness... meaning she needs to pay attention to what is around her so she doesn't walk into things.

For now she is with us and doing well
