    Post Cleaning Seat Tracks

    Hey all,
I am wondering if any of you have a tool that attaches to a vacuum to clean the siding seat tracks in minivans. I did one yesterday that was full of mud and dog hair, and all kinds of gunk. I used qtips and did an acceptable job, just thinking how much easier it would be to suck it out. No, my long thin nozzle would not fit in there.

I use a brush. If it's caked on gunk I use a degreaser with the brush.

I use my steamer, and a degreaser if necessary. I clean them early in the process since gunk can splatter, then tape over them so crap doesn’t get back in there when vacuuming.

APC and compressed air works well if available, obviously do it before you start vacuuming.

Ah, the old Toyota Sienna. How well I recognize you. I made an attachment by heating a thin crevice tool and reshaping it into a thinner crevice tool. We have a customer that is a dog trainer and shows dogs. They transport the dogs in crates, but the Sienna is still always full of dog hair. It works great on dog hair, not sure it would work great on popcorn or cheerios, but at the very least it would pull them out of the track so you could vacuum them up later.

Yep it's a Sienna. They have three kids and a dog, so lots of gunk in there. Lots of qtips did it, I just thought there would be a easier way.

The tornador with ONR/water mix does a decent job, I keep a mf towel near the end of the tool to cut down on dirt splatter

    Re: Cleaning Seat Tracks

I got a wetvac nozzle kit from HD or Lowe's that had a bunch of nozzles and reducing couplers to take a 1.5" nozzle down into several 1' and 0.5" nozzles. Some have bristles on the end. I think it was intended to clean computer keyboards and electronics. Stuff like that. It has come in handy a few times to reach into tight spaces like your situation. I think it is the Wet-Vac brand. I would blast it with compressed air first as suggested.
