    Best shine for silver paint?

    Hi everyone,

I have a 2005 Chevrolet Impala that is silver. I’m looking for some LSP to get the maximum shine out of the color. I would prefer a coating or a paint sealant since my car is a daily driver and outside 24/7. I will be correcting and polishing the paint beforehand so I’m sure that will help the gloss. If anyone has any suggestions on products to use that would be fantastic!

    Thank you very much!

I put some BF Sealant on my silver TSX Friday. Looks nice. Wolfgang, PBL, Menzerna PL would probably look as good but with slightly better durability. All are WOWO sealants.

Thank you for the recommendations. I’ll have to do some research on these.

Edited above to add a few pics. I’ll take more tomorrow if I get a chance before it rains.

Re: Best shine for silver paint?

Shine comes mostly from paint condition. Having flat paint and no defects will give you the most shine. Then comes cleanliness. Of course if the paint is dirty it won't shine much

Last step product can only enhance a little if your paint is in good condition. It can make more difference if you have swirls and micro scratches in the paint by using fillers to flatten the paint. So it really depends how good of a finish you have right now.

So, assuming your paint needs help, the best thing you can do is polish it. This will remove the defects and make it shine.

As a last step product, the best thing you can use in order of quality is a paint coating, followed by a Silica based paint sealant, then a polymer based paint sealant and last is a carnauba wax.

    For product recommendations:

If your paint is flawless, I suggest you apply McKee's 37 paint coating. Very inexpensive, easy to use, good results.

If you choose to use a Silica sealant, my suggestion would be CarPro Reload. Other companies such as Gtechniq and Geon also have good products in this category.

For a polymer sealant, I like Menzerna (Jescar) Powerlock. Again, many other good quality products on the market.

I am not a Carnauba wax guy, I never use them so I can't give you a recommendation on this.

    •I’ll suggest the following Sealants:
    - Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant delivers a deep, wet, liquid shimmer unlike anything you can imagine.

    - Finish Kare 1000P Hi-Temp Paste Wax, high melt polymer car wax, Finish care auto wax

I will be correcting my paint with D300 and Ultimate Polish before any protection. I have the McKee’s 37 paint coating V2, I just didn’t know if it looks good on silver paint. Thanks for the tips.

    Best shine for silver paint?

    * These pictures may not portray the gloss best, but you’ll get the picture

This Range Rover had Meguiar’s M21 applied. In person the shine came out very good!

This Lexus RX330 (not silver but a light gold color) had WGDGS. In person this one DELIVERED!

    My vote goes to Wolfgang.

    WOLFGANG BONUS: SLICKNESS = 15/10

The reality is silver is not going to have that pop. But in the right light silver can look great.

Proceed with polishing and the mckee's coating you have and just enjoy.
