Re: How much time would a Flex or Mille actually save me?

    In my experience,

Generally speaking, any gear-driven orbital will be faster overall than any free-spinning orbital.

Re: How much time would a Flex or Mille actually save me?

I am in kind of the same place. I have a RUPES Mini and 15MKII, but after working on 2 Porsches over the summer that required using the Mini on a good portion of the fenders I was wishing for a forced rotation machine. I have used a Flex 3401 in the past and am looking forward to trying out the RUPES offering at MTE in a few weeks.

I fought it for a while but am glad I made the move to the Flex as it saves me quite a bit of time. I'd say 30-40% easily.

If you have the funds, get it..it's complement your polisher lineup

Consider the Makita PO5000C. That and the Mille will give you great user experience compared to the 3401

Never know when the paint your working on won't like long throw

Porsche's are just curves...beautiful curves. The Flex just keeps on trucking on curves. This is where the forced rotation is handy dandy!

Re: How much time would a Flex or Mille actually save me?

Porsches are a significant chunk of my business and I use the 15ES,15 MKII and 21 MKII on the Panamera’s, Cayenne’s,Boxsters,Cayman’s and Carrera’s without issues. Yes I do use the 3401 and Mille too but find myself reaching for the long throws on the Porsche’s as I’m more comfortable with them without any stalling issues.

I’ve also had a white Cayman where the 3401 with orange force hybrids and Rupes Keramik gave me the best results.

F F F I hit the dislike by mistake and tried to fix it but couldn't. Hence the F F F. BTW, even though I like the post, I still think the Makita BO5000 is faster.
