I won't link it but google 'Rhopoint IQ gloss meter'. I can see these catching on as a way for car care companies 'to put their money where their mouth is' when talking about how their wax/coating / sealant is the glossiest product on the market

A good gloss meter is going to be my addition to the cabinet in 2018. I already use a modified version of Mike's intake form to report before and after and additional findings back to customers and I'd really like to show a measurable impact that can be quantified with such a tool. It's just another way of helping stand out among the sea of others in the area. Especially handy and impactful I think for someone like me who does this on the side mostly through word of mouth.

I think this is going to be very popular but wouldn't the readings change as the sun moves? Or would this need to be done in the garage with the door closed as your garage lights are always consistent?

I know this, after I completed the polishing step in my paint coating application last Memorial Day weekend using Optimum hyper polish, my built in gloss meter, my eyes, chimed in and told me I had achieved results!

How did I know you may ask, well it was pretty simple, my eyes teared up due to what I was looking at! I had to call my wife outside to look at the paint

I'm not sure if it would matter at least for the good ones as they measure the surface itself for clarity, reflection, etc. Todd @ Esoteric had some videos out there on the ones he sells.
