Re: Pads to use with Menzerna FG400 & SF4500

Pretty much all I use now is Menzerna polishes. I fell in love with them the first time I used it and haven't found a better line yet. I find the best pads for them are the Lake Country HydroTech pads. For FG400 you can use the cutting Cyan pad and sometimes finish out to LSP quality. Of course, results vary but you get good cut with exceptional finish.

In my opinion, and others may back me up, but there is no better combo than a LC HT Crimson pad and SF 4500. On my soft black paint, it is the only combo I use to get the paint dripping. Everyone I have recommended this combo have told me that they are always impressed by the results. Here are some recent pictures of the car wearing GTechniq EXOv2.

The nice thing about the HT line is there are three pads, so you don't have to buy 5 to get the full range. The only downside some have had is the durability of Cyan, but I haven't heard anything about Tangerine and Crimson. I've personally never had the issues but have read threads that have said it. I know that it is my go-to line of pads whenever I have any polishing to do.

I use the Hybrid pad line with Menzerna polishes on my 3401.

Here is an article I wrote on getting the best results from this setup.

Re: Pads to use with Menzerna FG400 & SF4500

I tried FG400 for the first time last week (picked it up at DF last year after speaking with Jeff from Menz). I used on a MF cutting pad to remove Scotch-Brite scratches from my neighbors car. It took 2-3 passes to clean them up (not make them completely disappear).
It had a long work time and really performed great. But I still find all the different Menzerna options confusing!

I typically use LC Black Finishing Pads with the 4500, sometimes the LC White Polishing Pads. Works great for black paint.
