I let it dry for more than 1 hour. I tried again what I thought was using less and still sling down the side of the car. I am going to try a small dot and see what happens.

Re: Wofgang tire gel

This was my favourite tire gel for a long time, then I found sonus which beat it but now I'm going to try Ultima
Unfortunately as much as I love a french companies products, their tyre gel is solvent based and thus is a no no these days

What I loved the most about WG gel was that it never washed off, after a month it still had some gloss and the tires never went brown
My process was to leave it on for a month or more before washing, cleaning and reapplying the gel

So with this new formula for 2008, how much better is the protection and is there more polymers in it than water based silicone?

Sling is caused by people using too much - silicone does not bond to rubber, the polymer does
Always let the tires sit to one to ten hours before driving, gotta let the gel bond and cure.

No matter what, a tyre cleaner spray from germany is used before application of the gel
Not even hot soap, pre soak or foaming brush at a coin op car wash totally cleans a tyre

I am about to try using a heat gun to open the pores of the rubber before applying the tire cleaner
Then heat it again and apply the gel
Let the tyre cool, put on a second coat then get out on the road for a month and see how the heat gun treated tire goes against the tire on the other side of the car.
Cause rubber is porous right, so best to open the pores before applying it and let pores close before driving
That should lock in the protective gel

Re: Wofgang tire gel

I just lightly mist the tire with meguiars spray hot shine.then i lightly mist my cheap 1 dollar tire shine applicator and let it sit for 10 minutes or so and i havent had any sling problems. My friends use a simular method with Black magic and have very simular results.
