Wgps cure time rain question

I finished detailing my car and topped it off with wolfgang paint sealant around 10 am this morning. The time is now just past 1 pm and it started to drizzle. How will this affect the cure time of the sealant as I have no garage and the car is parked outside? Thanks

Re: Wgps cure time rain question

It's a 12 hour cure time.

Re: Wgps cure time rain question

might affect your durability since the polymers need oxygen to crosslink

if the rain stops, then go leaf blow all the water off the car...

Re: Wgps cure time rain question

My fear would not be the change in cure time, but an actual interruption in the polymer cross linking process (phase change from liquid to solid "gel point") which could shorten the longevity of the coating.

If the sealant is a waterborne product then it might not be a big issue unless the contaminants in the rain (acid, fallout, etc) can interrupt the cross linking.

Might be something to consider...
