Cars for Second Season of "What's in the Garage" TV Show - Thread #3

Cars for Second Season of "What's in the Garage" TV Show - Thread #3

We start shooting our second season on January 9th, 2012 and we're going to a lot of cool cars.

What we're looking for...

We're looking for a wide spectrum of vehicles to choose from, this means new, exotic, classics, hotrods, streetrods, antiques, basically anything you could call Special Interest.

Here are a few more criteria for having your car on our TV show.
  • Vehicle must lend itself well to a detailing tip or technique.
  • Vehicle must be in in good physical condition, that is no dents or wrecks
  • Vehicle must be brought to Autogeek's facilities the wees we're shooting.

The link to this thread is being sent to all the owners of these cars as well as the producers and sponsors of our TV show. The producers make the final decision on which cars make the cut along with my recommendations.

Request for help from the owners of the cars below. If you see the words,

Need contact info

above the picture of a car, this means I need a name, phone number and/or e-mail address for the owner of the car. If recognize a car below and know the owner then please either have them contact me or give me a call.

Office: 1-800-869-3011 x206

Re: Cars for Second Season of "What's in the Garage" TV Show - Thread #3

Without further ado, here's the pictures of the cars I found last night....

Remember, the link to this thread is being sent to the producers of our TV show as well as a number of other people in the car entertainment and media industries as well as the owners of these cars.

Please feel free to chime in and share which cars you think would be interesting to learn more about...

Jame's 1940 Chevy Pick-up
I took a nighttime shot of this the other night above but James e-mailed me this one that's in better focus.

James also owns this 1959 Chevrolet Apache Pick-up

And here's Jame's 1934 Ford 3-Window Coupe

Ken's 1969 Camaro
Ken's Camaro is the Kissing Cousin to Steve's 1969 Camaro Pace Car we recently buffed out to a show car finish.
(See pic of Steve's Camaro down this page a ways)

Dave's 1955 First Series
They only made this truck for one or two months then they went to the new body style. 355 Small Block Chevy with 5-Speed Transmission.

John's 1968 International 220 Tractor
John used this truck to haul carnival 1974 to 1990. Then the truck was in storage for 20 years and then he repainted the frame and the cab was painted with Imron paint in Caribou, Maine about 25 years ago.

Jim's 1967 GT350 Shelby Mustang

Here's another thread about the side marker light on Jim's GT350

Dave's 1959 Oldsmobile Super 88

This car is almost 20' long...

Lots of chrome and baby fins...

David's 1949 Packard Super Eight
Underneath the body panels is a 1977 Cadillac Sedan Deville frame and suspension with 425 Cubic Inch Big Block Caddy Engine and Turbo 400 Automatic Transmission.

Dan's classic Buick Convertible

Dan's 1962 All Original Buick Wildcat

Dan also owns...
  • 1948 Cadillac Convertible
  • 1941 Lincoln
  • 1941 Cadillac
  • 1937 Lincoln
  • 1931 Buick
Dan's friend with his hotrodded 1926 Willys Knight

Ken's 1948 Dodge Power Wagon
This thing is a BEAST!

Re: Cars for Second Season of "What's in the Garage" TV Show - Thread #3

My good friend Jay just sent me pictures of his 1989 K5 Blazer which is getting a custom paint job and then some new upgrades.

Because he's my friend and like me a fan of Chevy Blazers, I've offered to give him a hand with the sanding, cutting and buffing of the new paint job. You can hire the best painter in the world to spray the paint but here's the facts and you can quote me on this...

It's the person that does the wetsanding, cutting and buffing that makes or breaks the paint job

Since his Blazer will have a brand new paint job at the time we film our first week's show I'm thinking we can include a segment on how to sand and buff fresh paint...

I know there's a lot of "Car Guys" in the car world that want to know how to do this step right because you really only have once chance. Plus, here at Autogeek we carry everything a person needs to wetsand, cut and polish fresh paint to a show car finish, which is what Jay's always wanted for his Blazer.
  • Rotary buffers
  • Wool Cutting Pads
  • Cutting Compounds
  • Polishes
  • Foam pads
  • DA Polisher
  • Air DA's for machine sanding
  • Electric DA's for machine sanding
  • Sanding Discs
  • Hand sanding papers and backing pads
  • Masking tape
  • Cover-up Towels

We carry everything a person needs to tackle a wetsand, cut and buff plus the facilities to do and showcase it.
