Repainted a panel, how long until wet sand and polish?
I just finished removing a rust spot on my 1999 chili pepper red pearl Durango and painted - all by spray can - part of that panel with Cross-Fire primer, then Acrylic Enamel and a three layers of PlastiKote Premium clear enamel. I know it is a little abnormal to clear acrylic enamel but supposidly the paint - Cross-Fire acrylic enamel - can be clear coated and I prefer the idea of sanding and polishing clear coat to attempting to sand and polish pearl. I know I should have used a proper bc/cc system but I had to use what I had available.
How long do I have to wait until I can safely wet sand the paint to remove the slight orange peel and over spray roughness and then polish the paint?
I hate painting by can, I can never get a good smooth finish.
