Tips for detailing black Tesla Model S
Hey everyone!
I started a mobile detailing business earlier last month and after hard work and networking I am going to be detailing one of my favorite cars. Tomorrow morning I will be detailing a 2014 Black Tesla Model S for the first time.
I am wondering if there's any tips or techniques for detailing this car. I have been watching a lot of videos on YouTube about the coat of the clear coat/paint being softer than other vehicles.
If anyone has any advice or tips I would greatly appreciate it
:-D
Thanks guys!

Re: Tips for detailing black Tesla Model S
I've always said I can buff out a Ford or a Ferrari because at the end of the day you're not working on a "car" you're working on paint.
Always start any project by doing a Test Spot.
Use the least aggressive process to get the job done.
I have articles on both those topics that explan how and why and cover them in all my how-to books.
Try to have fun too...

I have done several,I wish I had the one with soft paint! I found you really need to do a test spot as Mike says. All three responded differently.
Good luck, and I still think cars are meant to be loud!

This is exactly why Mike stated above to do the test spot.
Paint is paint, don't let the value of the car dictate how you approach it. You may find the one you are working in indeed has soft paint, or it may have medium or hard paint. Do the test spot to determine this. I am sure that Tesla is not doing one off custom jobs, so as the car goes down the line, if they have a hiccup in the process, they are not going to stop the line, they will switch to the next container of paint, and it may not be the same paint as the first 10 cars on the line.
Main thing is to enjoy it, and turn it out top-notch so next week you can do the same on another Tesla or something else similar.
