This is called Stretching

This is called Stretching

The "Stretching Shot" is when you have all the doors, trunk lid, hood etc., opened up so you can wipe down and detail all the nooks and crannies on the car to remove any polish or wax residue.

Kind of the idea of how we stretch out only as it applies to a car...

Of course some cars look cooler than others when they're stretching...

Re: This is called Stretching

That's a good idea Mike. Thanks for the tip. I usually clean my door and trunk jambs after every wash, but I usually neglect the hood.

Yes. Well technically I opened the cover door over the fill cap for the fuel tank, I didn't open the actual fuel tank.

I like turning wrenches but don't think I would want to tackle something as well-engineered as a Porsche...

Mike:
I see you too are a fan of the microfiber gloves. I love them for detailing the enguine bay. I put on a pair of latex gloves first then the microfiber gloves. Once you spray down the engine compartment with your favorite cleaner go to town uaing your hands. The gloves will get to places a brush cannot and they will also help with the rinse off.

Next time you have a really ugly engine compartment to detail give this method a shot.

What year is that Porsche? It seems like it is older, but looks really, really nice!
