2008 Subaru Impreza

Just picked the car up on Monday and gave it the works yesterday. I have like 200+ pics to go through, but here are a few to get started with.

The car was special ordered and we picked it up the day it arrived (Monday), the dealer was instructed not to wash the car upon arrival. This was its first wash.

1. Cleaned the interior with Megs Quick Interior Detailer (didn't need to do any deep cleaning, just dust and remove oil and residue)

2. Vacuum

3. Treat all interior plastics and door seals with 303 Aerospace Protectant

4. Treat seats, carpet and trunk with 303 Fabric Guard

5. Cleaned interior windows with Prima Clarity

6. Cleaned exterior of windows with Stoners IG

7. Applied RainX to front and rear windshiled's and let sit while doing wheels

8. Cleaned wheels with Eagle One and Megs GC shampoo

9. Sprayed foam over the car with DP foaming shampoo, rinsed.

10. Clayed hood, roof and trunk with Megs

11. Washed car with Megs GC

12. Spot treated scratches on hood and trunk with Megs ScratchX

13. Polished and sealed with XMT 360 and Edge 2000 finishing pad (white)

14. Treated all exterior plastics with 303 aerospace protectant

15. Applied Megs Hot Tire Shine to tires

16. Cleaned exterior of windows again with Prima Clarity

Not sure what to do next. XMT 180, WG DGPS, or just Prima Hydro.

Car looks great, great color! I'm with you with the 303 on the door seals and interior/Exterior plastic. I've notoced that treating the door seals helped to reduce inteior wind cabin noise under highway speeds. Congrations on you new car, subaru's are amoung the best... Is that color crystal grey metallic?

Here's what DG 111 topped with max wax can do for silver paint.

I was admiring your car the other day in your show and shine. Looks absolutely sick, great job on silver.

They call it "Spark Silver Metallic" It's very bright. When I was working on it, it even looked white at times.

I have a CD full of pictures, that my friend took that I just haven't had the time to go through, and I took some style shots of the exterior and interior. The ones up there are some HDR's that my friend sent my shortly after shooting the car. I like the way HDR's look and all as they bring out the color, but they really dull the shine and detail you are trying to show off in a show and shine thread. Up close it does look good, but lacks a lot of depth. This weekend was more about getting some quick protection on it than trying to make it really shine though. For that I think I will do some SSR1, WG PPE, WG DGPS (2 coats), and some XMT 180.

Side note, maybe someone can help me here. This is the second time I have used XMT 360 and I always have polish left after I buff the car. When I walk around the car in the light I am STILL finding spots where I didn't get all the polish off. I swear I have used enough QD on it that I have probably stripped all the protection off already and I am still finding spots. I fear I am marring the paint trying to remove it all, just as last time. What can I be doing wrong? What is the easiest way to get it all off?
