Black Honda S2000, worst paint ever! Heaps of pics.

The car belongs to a dude that lives off my street. I dont really know him, just say hello when I see him. He came past a few weeks ago and when he parked I could see scratches everywhere! He realised that I saw how bad his paint is, and he said " Yeah it needs a good cut and polish " and I said, oh so that's why you came over eh? He said, what do you mean? I go, I do car detailing. I emailed him some pictures, he was impressed, and he dropped the car off yesturday. When he dropped it off, he told me it had a red pearl going through it, but he had only ever seen the red metallic flakes once, lol.

Here it is when he dropped it off, doesn't look too bad huh?

Well I didnt think it looked to bad, untill I put it in the garage and put some proper lights on it.

As soon as I saw these swirls, I knew that an Orange pad wouldnt cut it. So out came the Yellow pad and XMT 3.

It removed most of the swirls, but left ALOT of micromarring and hazing as you can see on the right of this pic.

After XMT 3, I tried XMT 360 with an Orange pad, removed some of the marring, but too much remained. So I used XMT 2 with an Orange pad, then XMT 360 with a white pad. God I'm glad I did that!

After I used XMT 2 with the orange pad, I took the car out of the garage and powerwashed it becuase of the dust. Then I used the white pad with XMT 360. After that, I put on a coat of DP MaxWax and put it in the driveway and let it do its work. I then took the wax off with the PC and a microfibre blanket. The car looked absolutely awesome, so wet! One of my neighbours drove past and told me that the car looked amazing, and that he had never seen a shine like that, then some other dude asked me if I had a card, unfortunately I don't, I'm only 15.

Anyway, here are the afters! Ignore my sisters jacket on the roof lol. Everyone tell me what you think.

Wow you're only 15? seems like you're the youngest here! You're farther than me in detailing experience and I'm 20. Nice job on the S2000! I love those cars

WOW!....Great Work!

And, at 15 years young...you'll be a pro by 16 LOL. I think that's when I got started waxing cars. My Dad had a 1958 Buick Roadmaster that was about 3 acres of sheetmetal and the most hideous chrome stuff everywhere. I can still remember the grill...chrome squares about 1 inch each and it seemed like there was 1,000 of them.

Super work young man. Stay with the enthusiasm and good work.

Toto

WOW, that is an amazing job! I would like to make one suggestion. Get some business cards if this is something you enjoy.
