i bought a big bottle of bissell little green solution. Its the same stuff that comes with the machine when you buy it. They only give you like a little starter bottle (8 oz.) to do 1 job

Did you spray the carpet with all the solution (get it fairly damp) before vacuuming it up?

I like mine. Like others I do the solutions with spray bottles, even the rinse water. When I pressure wash matts and squeege off most of the H2O I'll still extract a full tank of dirty water with the LGM. You could probably do the same job with a wet/dry vac but the LGM is much less mess and much easier clean up.
