    2007 BMW 335 (E92) - paint correction

This owner contacted me through one of the local euro car clubs. He takes relatively good care of the car. If sees hand washes in the summer and touchless in the winter. The paint was in very good condition with just some light swirls from washing. There were a few paint chips and a deep scratch to be addressed too. The trim on the other hand was terrible. The last detailer left residue on all the trim and on the clearbra edge. Unfortunately, one of my SD cards got corrupt and I lost a good deal of the photos. I was only able to salvage some from the end of the work and the finished product.

No full sun shots but a few in under the fluorescent lights.

    Process

    Rinseless wash with Meguiars D114
Clayed with ONR and nanoskin autoscrub on the GG6
Trim cleaned and treated with BF AIO trim and tire protectant
waterspots in door jambs got werkstatt prime by hand
one step paint correction with rupes 21 UHS pads and HD adapt
tight areas got the flex with 5" white hybrids and D300
Deep scratch was wetsanded with 1500, 3000 then finished with adapt.
paint chips get filled, wetsanded then finish with adapt and MF pad on a 2" pneumatic
wheels were done with permanon platinum
tires done with BF AIO trim and tire protectant

The clearbra got a paint cleaner on the flex with white hybrid pads and treated to something AG hasn't released yet, but I can say that it was very easy to work with and I'm impressed.

Chips before and after, the paint match isn't the best, but they are nice and levelled, only visible from about 1' away.

Wax on the trim taken care of courtesy of the new blackfire AIO trim and tire protectant.

Clearbra was taken care of with several toothpicks and some IPA.

All the nooks and crannies cleaned out

    A few finished shots

Yup, that's a flexfuel badge on the back, the car is tuned for e85, making about 450hp to the wheels

Very nice work on that BMW! Really like the way it looks. The second to last picture looks killer! Thanks for sharing.

Did the paint receive the same treatment (LSP) as the clear bra or something different?

Did he mention if the tune was COBB or JB4?

It's a highly modified COBB, we have a guy locally (Brian May) that is very good with e85 tuning on the N54, also came up with his own intake design that's performing very well.

You had to catch that, didn't you? I was not going to mention it, but since you asked, yes it was the same as the clear bra.
