Paint Correction: Pontiac Bonneville, Black Jacked UP!!! Lots of PICS!!

I don't know the whole history behind this car. It belongs to my pastors mother, who is like a grandmother to me. I was checkin her car out about a week ago and bout passed out! Swirl city, I mean this was the capital of swirl. So the other day she asked if I would detail it for her, and of course I couldn't pass it up.

Supposedly they took it to a body shop and were supposed to have all the dings and dents removed as well as repaint the whole car expect for the roof. First off the paint job SUCKED! Secondly after it was inintally painted they were supposed to of taken it back and got it detailed, and then a third time but it never happened. Well some one got ahold of the car with some type of buffer some some white crap that was in all the tiny cracks and what not. And some of it is still there. I really wanted to go with XMT, but I went with Menz line instead.

I got some samples of SIP and 106 but not enough to do this car. So for the hood and driver side and back I did a 50/50 of SIP and IP. Boy howdy was this mixture dusty!!! And I used the yellow LC pad, UDM and speed 6. I had to do two passes on each part of the car and could still see tiny scratches and what not. I knew at that point a rotary with a wool pad and probably PG compound would of been the best way to start, but I did what I could with what I had.

Here's the interesting part, I was going to do the 50/50 then 106 with an orange LC pad, but I was tired and it was hot in my garage, so what did I do? I mixed about 2 oz. of 106 with probably about 3 oz. of the 50/50, and you know what, no more dust!!! And it still cut!! Go figure! After it was all said and done the car came out 10x better than the beginning, still some imperfections, but that will come later. So now time for pics... sorry for the long commentary!

Exterior:
Wash D2G special soap via foam gun
LC Ulti-mitt via grit guard bucket
Wheels cleaned RL QD

50/50 IP/SIP via UDM and Yellow LC pad Sp.6
75/25 IP:SIP/106ff via UDM and cleaned Yellow LC pad Sp.6
Drove to touchless carwash cause too lazy to hand wash
Wipe down with RL QD

Zymol Creame via Green/Red AG wax applicator
Liquid Souveran Spray Wax via mf
Tires coat of RL exterior dressing, then DP tire gel
Windows SIG via MF WW
PB spray and gloss wipe down

Pics will be, befores: during: after:

During:
The hood after was after 2 passes of 50/50

That made me laugh. Actually as I drove up her jaw literally dropped. She's not the brighest lady, Love her to death, but she definately knew there was a difference

Vehicle looks great Dust, and a very nice combination there buddy.

That vehicle was in rough shape, the fact that it's black colour dosen't help either.

Very nice turn around there, thank you for sharing.

Extreme makeover right there, you saved the car from buffer swirls. Great job!
P.S. thanks for a new combo suggestion, I might try it later.
