Black BMW 745Li - My Eyes Hurt from looking at halogens all day

Well, getting ready to complete Numba' 2 out of 4...a black 745Li that was swirled but not too scratchy, so no wetsanding needed.

Before Door Shot

Our supply of 3M dark glaze (which is really a polish) is diminishing, so the dealer got some 3M Swirl Remover. This product is outstanding and AutoGeek should add it to their existing 3M line! It finishes a compound job like no other product I've used to date!

After compounding and Swirl Remover

Inside shop on lift of the rear of the car

These outdoor shots are after Swirl Remover and power washing. I could go to a last step product, but will put 3M Ultrafina SE on the finish tomorrow

It's pretty pricey stuff (I think the dealer said $40 per quart), but my usage is approx. 50% less than the 3M Dark Glaze that I used previously...so the price difference is made up with less product used.

I used a dark gray foam pad on some parts of the car and a Meguiar's 9006 finish pad on the nooks and crannies.

Toto

Another great detail. Don't you get to work on anything except black Bimmers?

LOL...I'm beginning to think I'm a magnet for black BMW's! Oh wait, I did a few silver and 1 Olivin X5...

dengood1: the dealer wants Ultrafina SE applied to black cars, but the next one I get that's another color, I'll probably go right to #26 and call it a day.

That product finishes in just the way you see it in the pictures...unreal.

Looks good Master Toto, it's funn you should mention 3M products. I've used some and I was shoked at how good they perform, 3M has been around for a long time so they know there products. I just need to find out the product I need for the task that's all. So still experimenting with 3M.

Thank you for sharing, vehicle looks great

I could look at your work for hours Toto. You should write a how to clean a BMW book, I know who would buy the first copy, me. Your work is always top drawer.
