Black 2014 Mustang 5.0 SERIOUS Scratch Removal
Hello all, let me just say that this is pretty much my first post here. Have been detailing since i was 12, (19 now) and run my own detailing business, TRU Detailing in Louisville, KY. No stranger to forums but am a very busy person and never really had time to post on here but i finally am.
Pre- Inspection: Guy called me and told me he had some scratches on the top half of the car that his mom had put in there while he was gone in the military. With an ice scraper.....
When i got it: Well, its 60 degrees today and very windy and wet... Last week we got over a foot of snow, so the car was dirty. First thing i noticed was it was exactly as he described it. Horrible.
After the wash i got it in the garage and started looking at it. Scratches werent deep enough to feel, so that was good news. Started some testing and found that the usual Megs MF Cutting pad with M105 did the trick, but very time consuming. Polished with Shine Supply Classic Polish on a foam pad. (i like the way it makes black paint "pop"). Then gave the car a 15%IPA wipedown and then Megs 21 2.0 Sealant on top.
When i got it:
Dang Ice scrapers lol
M105 puttin in worrrkkk
I LOL @ scratches :P
So pretty again!
Anyways, there you have it! Just one project that was actually today haha.
If you would like to see more my instagram account is @TRUdetailing, and you can also find pictures of my personal super duper clean car on my personal IG account @ItsReallySlow
Glad to be here!!

I also might add that he got turned down by 3 other local "detailers" because it was "unfixable." Lol

Oh yes! He was very happy! Especially since he thought he was gonna have to shell out $1000+ for someome to repaint it!

Well, according to him she paid for it so all is good! Is like nothing ever happened! And i probably did him a favor by the look of how many swirls were there also. Taught him some proper washing methods... He was using the dreaded "brush" at the local drive thru haha

You don't understand, just like any mother she loves her son very much & wanted his car to be clean when he comes back, she thought ice scrapper is the best thing to clean the paint from the snow, what's wrong with it?
Now you erased mother's hard work, shame on you

Terrific work, Sir, really nice! By the pictures, I thought it hit the primer, but I'm glad it wasn't deep as it looked. Nice save! Did you remove completely, or you left some tiny RIDS? The pics are not close enough. Touchdown on this one!

It is not just loving mothers who use an ice scraper to remove snow/ice from a vehicle. Monday I was at the Subaru dealer in Tulsa OK. A lot porter was using a scraper to remove snow/ice from the top and hood of an Outback. OUCH!!!
